GESHE MICHAEL ROACH has been a teacher of Buddhism since 1981 and was the first American to complete the 20-year Geshe degree (equivalent to a double doctorate in philosophy) in a traditional Buddhist monastery. He then worked as a director of a large diamond company in New York City for 16 years before completing a 3-year silent meditation retreat in the Arizona desert. He is the author of The Diamond Cutter, The Garden and The Tibetan Book of Yoga and coauthor of The Essential Yoga Sutra, How Yoga Works, The Eastern Path to Heaven and Karmic Management. He founded and directs the Asian Classics Institute, the Asian Classics Input Project and Diamond Mountain University in Arizona. |

MERCEDES BAHLEDA is a Yoga Alliance certified instructor as well as a teacher for the Yoga Studies Institute. She has been traveling and teaching Yoga and Buddhist Philosophy around the world for the past 12 years with her teacher Geshe Michael Roach. A professional singer from New York City, Mercedes has applied the principals of the Diamond Cutter into her work and her life and was recently signed as a recording artist with White Swan records for her two music albums "Mercy Songs" and "Path to Bliss". She leads classes in Yoga, meditation and devotional singing at Diamond Mountain University and in 2010 will be entering the great retreat with her teacher Geshe Michael Roach. |
VEN. LOBSANG NYINGPO is a full Tibetan Buddhist Monk ordained by Geshe Michael Roach of whom he is close disciple. A martial artist of black belt standing Venerable Nyingpo leads classes in Tibetan Heart Yoga, Tai Chi, Buddhist Debate, and Tibetan language at Diamond Mountain University and around the world. Venerable is a Yoga and Philosophy staff instructor for the Yoga Studies Institute and has completed all 18 core courses of the ACI curriculum. Venerable has completed many deep silent retreats in the Arizona dessert and in 2010 will be entering the great retreat with his teacher Geshe Michael Roach. |
